A Small Country Garden
Location: Hampshire
Brief: To add privacy, ground-shaping and planting to a new garden.
This small garden at the rear of a stable conversion had lovely views over the Hampshire countryside, but lacked any planting, seating areas or privacy from the neighbours on either side.
A small, pergola-covered terrace now leads out from the back door and onto a curved, two-tier lawn, separated by a flight of steps. The ground-shaping is intended to gradually draw the eye outwards towards the view, and generous planting of the boundaries with varieties that complement a country-style garden provide the much needed privacy.
