A Small Town Garden
Brief: To link the garden with the house, disguise the awkward shape and incorporate both sitting and working areas.
A small, awkwardly shaped garden adjacent to a new-build property in Winchester, the resulting design fulfilled the brief with the inclusion of paved areas for both daytime and evening sitting, a small water feature, the incorporation planting for all year round colour and interest and a specially requested patch of lawn for the dog! While the house once sat detached from the garden, the two are now linked by broad, paved steps which then lead down to the main sitting area. The existing shed is hidden behind trellis and planting, and a narrow, brick-paved path skirts round the lawn before terminating at the small, circular evening sitting area tucked away at the end of the garden.
